The Full Story
Hi, My name is Rob. I accidentally came across a gap while I was grieving at the loss of my dad. I didn't know what to do, how to feel and more importantly I felt numb in the brain. To get to where we are today there were a couple of iterations with the first being StickTalk and then dabbled with HockeyUnfiltered eventually landing with Hockey Uncut.

Hockey Uncut was created because it felt like there was a growing disconnect within hockey between the conversations people were having privately and the conversations being had publicly. Across clubs, schools, counties and social media, people were talking constantly about the challenges, frustrations, successes and realities of the game, yet very little of it ever seemed to be brought together in one place.

There were conversations around the pressure volunteers face, the rising cost of playing, the future of facilities, junior development, mental health, club culture and the overall direction of the sport. At the same time, there were also incredible stories of community, friendship, resilience and people giving countless hours to keep hockey alive. Hockey Uncut was created to give those conversations and stories a platform.

The idea was never simply to build another hockey news page or highlights account. It was created to feel more human than that. The goal was to build a space where people across every level of the game could feel connected, heard and involved, whether they were a junior player at their first training session, a parent driving across the country every weekend, a volunteer running a club behind the scenes, or someone who has been involved in hockey for decades.
Hockey Uncut exists because hockey is about far more than results and league tables. It is built on people, relationships, sacrifices and communities. Every club has its own identity. Every pitch has its own story. Every player’s journey is different. The platform was created to shine a light on those stories, ask honest questions about the future of the game and help bring the hockey community closer together.

At its heart, Hockey Uncut is about creating conversations that matter and reminding people that no matter where they sit within the sport, they are part of the same ecosystem.
